Who can make Fitr Zakat via USSD

- This service is available only for Ooredoo Prepaid & Ooredoo Mix customers.


Until when is Zakat payments accepted via USSD?

- 23rd March 2023 to 15th April 2023.


How do I know Fitr Zakat USSD service is unavailable?

- When attempted failed message will appear “Fitr Zakat Payment Service via USSD has expired. This Service is no longer available. Please call the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for payment. Thank You”.


Will customer be notified if insufficient credit?

- Yes, “Sorry, you do not have sufficient balance. Please recharge and try again. Thank you”.


How will the GST be treated for the Fitr Zakat payments?

- For every Zakat payment Ooredoo will provide 8% of Credit to every customer. “Due to the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST), we will be refunding 8% of the Zakat Payment as Credits”.


Are there are any limits to number of Fitr Zakat payments?

- There are no limit on the number of Zakat transactions customers can make via USSD menu. Customer can attempt multiple times.

- Not available at the moment, the service is only available to Postpaid (except for Bill Control) customers.


How can I switch from a BC plan to a non-BC plan?

- Visit Digital Shop and click upgrade your plan, alternatively you may reach out to customer care or visit OEC should you need assistance.


How do I activate roaming?

- Please follow below process:

- Existing customers with Passport SIM Card can activate Roaming (voice & SMS) 

   • Self-activation: login to My Ooredoo and click roaming activation and pay the deposit

   • OEC visit: customer can head over to OEC and activate roaming with the help of the staff. New customers can obtain Passport SIM 

   • Data Roaming must be self-activated by dialing *929*6*7#

- New customers must visit OEC and request to swap their current SIM to an Ooredoo Passport SIM with same customer mobile number free of charge and follow above steps to activate Roaming service.

- To replace your SIM card to a Passport SIM, please visit Ooredoo Experience Centre.


Is there an eSIM option available for Ooredoo Passport?

- Not available at the moment. Customer must have a physical Passport SIM prior to roaming activation.


Will any of my other services (rateplan, call, text, data, current active packs, etc) be affected due to the SIM swap?

- Customer number will not change and it will not affect other local services customer is using. The change to Passport SIM is a one-time activity free of charge.
